Detection and Stability Evaluation of Legacy Coal Mine Goafs in Southern Jiangsu

The distribution ranges of coal mine goafs in Southern Jiangsu remain unknown due to their long history and missing relevant data. To evaluate the stability of these legacy coal mine goafs, this study selects the Houyu Coal Mine goafs as the research subject and adopts the transient electromagnetic method(TEM) to detect this area and basically determine the distribution ranges of the goafs. Subsequently, the geophysical exploration results are validated by drilling. Finally, the probability integral method is utilized to calculate the residual surface deformation value within the goaf area to comprehensively evaluate its stability.
